BODRUM CASTLE AND UNDERWATER ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM

Bodrum Castle is one of the most important historical structures in Turkey and one of the symbols of Bodrum. Built by the Knights of St. Jean in the 15th century, the castle now hosts one of the most important underwater archaeology museums in Turkey and the world.

Bodrum Castle currently serves as the Bodrum Underwater Archaeology Museum. This museum has one of the largest underwater archaeology collections in Turkey and the world. Among the exhibited works are ancient shipwrecks, amphoras, glass works, coins and jewelry.

GUMUSLUK AND RABBIT ISLAND

Gümüşlük is one of the quietest and most peaceful areas of Bodrum, famous for its magnificent sunsets, stone houses and seaside fish restaurants. Since it was built on the ruins of the ancient city of Myndos, it is protected as a natural site. Therefore, instead of large hotels and concrete structures, it offers a bohemian atmosphere and an environment intertwined with nature. It is a wonderful experience to sit on the beach, eat fresh seafood and relax with the sound of the waves.

One of the most special spots in Gümüşlük is Tavşan Island. This is a small island that can be reached by walking through the sea! It is quite enjoyable to walk to the island as the water rises to knee level thanks to a shallow stone path. According to legend, this passage built by King Mausolus to meet his lover has been preserved from ancient times to the present day. When you climb to the top of the island, a magnificent view of Gümüşlük welcomes you. This area, where nature and history are intertwined, is one of the must-see places in Bodrum!

At the same time, as you move towards the inner parts of Bitez, you will be greeted by nature full of olive groves and tangerine gardens. MAUSOLEUM OF HALICARNAS (One of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World)

It is one of the most important historical structures in Bodrum, considered one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. It was built in 350 BC by the Carian King Mausolus, his wife and sister Artemisia. One of the largest and most magnificent tomb monuments of that period, the Mausoleum was a masterpiece of engineering with its high columns, pyramid-shaped roof and equestrian statues on top. This impressive structure also inspired the word “mausoleum” to enter the world languages.

Unfortunately, although it was largely destroyed by earthquakes and wars, today the ruins of the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus can be visited as an open-air museum. Here, models showing the original plan of the mausoleum, column fragments and ancient reliefs are exhibited. In addition, some of the statues from the mausoleum are in the British Museum in London. A must-see for anyone interested in history and ancient architecture!

PARADISE BAY

It is one of the most pristine and peaceful bays of Bodrum. This bay, which truly deserves its name, is like a paradise for nature lovers and campers with its turquoise, crystal clear sea, lush green pine forests and untouched nature. There is no vehicle access here, so the best option is to reach it by boat tours or on foot. Although the road is a bit challenging, the magnificent view and tranquility you will encounter when you arrive are worth all the tiredness!

One of the most important features of Cennet Bay is that its sea is crystal clear and its underwater world is quite rich. Therefore, it is a great place for snorkeling, diving and discovering the beauties under the sea. Since there are no big facilities here, you can be alone with nature and have a real escape. If you want to get away from the crowds and discover one of the hidden beauties of Bodrum, Cennet Bay is for you!
